Introducing Feisty and Gracie!

We are thrilled to announce two new additions to our largest exhibit, "Pinniped Cove" ... Feisty and Gracie!

Feisty, a gentle 33-year-old, is the second male to call The Maritime Aquarium home in its 35 year history, and is currently the only male in "Pinniped Cove." Along with Gracie, a curious 20-year-old female, they are the first new seals to be added to our group since 2005!

Both seals came to the Aquarium from ABQ BioPark in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After a flight east, they underwent a 30 day quarantine behind-the-scenes to protect the health of our five other harbor seals before being introduced to their new home.

See Feisty and Gracie – along with Rasal, Ariel, Polly, Tillie, and Leila – in "Pinniped Cove!"

Can't Get Enough Seals? Join Us on a Cruise!

Don't miss our "Seal-Spotting & Birding Cruises" on Jan. 14 & 15!

Join us as we cruise out in hopes of spotting some of the seals that come into Long Island Sound each winter. We'll seek out the seals to observe them near the Norwalk Islands as they “haul out” to rest on rocks exposed at low tide. These cruises also give birders unique “on-the-water” access to see and photograph visiting winter waterfowl.
