Raves and Dates for Jerker

Heading into Provincetown’s legendary Carnival Week, after our smashing opening of Robert Chesley’s controversial classic Jerker, tickets continue a brisk uptick and the raves keep pouring in..

“Unabashed, erotic, and surprisingly tender. A bold choice for the Provincetown Theater, beyond the raw sexuality and nudity in the performance… Jerker is theater that challenges, and that's always a good thing. Above all else Jerker is masterfully acted by Joe MacDougall and Stephen Walker.” – Steve Desroches, Provincetown Magazine

“The Provincetown Theater’s Jerker emerges at a time when human connections are in tatters. As time-specific as Jerker is, it feels timeless. That’s because it’s sensitively and thoughtfully conceived and executed, as directed by the company’s David Drake and performed by Joe MacDougall and Stephen Walker. The effect is hypnotic.” – Howard Karren, Provincetown Independent

“Jerker is a riveting eye-opening, 90-minute drama with full-frontal nudity that’s never gratuitous or salacious. The only voyeurism that happens is observing the growing love between the two characters. Fascinating and poignant… watching Jerker is as intimate an experience as the viewer will ever get short of having the experience themselves. Masterful. The best of humanity is on display.” – Shannon Goheen, Cape Cod Times

Indeed, you don’t wanna miss our New England Premiere of Robert Chesley's bold, hypnotic, masterful love story, Jerker.

And, specific to this week, we’ve got a special performance schedule. To make way for the return of a live Carnival Parade on Thursday, Aug 18 (Wooo-hooo!) we’ve adjusted our show dates for Jerker. This week (Aug 15 -19), the play will perform on Mon, Tue, Wed and Friday at 7pm. Click below to nab your seats today!

OPEN AUDITIONS for The Humans

This coming weekend, on Sat and Sun, August 20 and 21 from 2-6pm, we’ll be holding auditions for non-union actors at our playhouse,

238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA, for our

next production – October’s Cape Cod Premiere of Stephen Karam’s Tony Award-winning Best Play of 2016, The Humans.

A contemporary family drama, as its director, I’m seeking male, female, and/or non-binary actors of all races between the ages of 25 to 75. Of particular interest, I very much encourage actors of color to audition for the role of Richard.
