The Village Board of Trustees are still recruiting talented and interested residents from the Village of Ossining for appointment to open positions on various Volunteer Boards, Commissions, and Committees.

Our Boards, Commissions, and Committees vary in size and involvement, yet all are designed to help shape and influence critical decisions and services for the Village of Ossining. We strive to fill all open positions with residents who are passionate and enthusiastic about serving.

I am proud to share that the Ossining Police Department will host a monthly mobile food pantry from Feeding Westchester beginning on January 12th.

Food insecurity is a serious concern and can directly impact public safety. For this distribution, simply arrive at 4:00PM at the Birdsall-Fagan Police Court Facility, located at 86-88 Spring Street, for groceries. Feeding Westchester will have a variety of healthy items available.

The distribution will be set up in the parking lot of police headquarters, and food will be distributed from 4-5PM.

Please join us this Wednesday evening (January 11th) for our first Work Session of the new year. We have a lengthy agenda ahead, but it's exciting to see so many projects taking shape:

- Joe Apicella of Macquesten Development will discuss the proposed PILOT for Crescent Manor (136-140 Croton Avenue, formerly Sun Valley Nursery). The agenda links to the pertinent documents that are publicly available.

- We will be joined by David Eisenbud and Jackie Bruce from DSD to discuss the proposed solar canopy at the Ossining Train Station. This was made possible through an RFP program conducted by NYSERDA back in 2019 (the same one that brought us the solar array at the Operations Center, which should be going online in early Spring 2023). We will also be joined by Benjamin Cuozzo from NYPA. David and his team will be with us to give a little background on who they are and what they do, followed by some renderings of what they are proposing for Ossining.

- As we begin to work on our policies and procedures for on-street parking, the section regarding Overnight (Hardship) Parking in the Village Code needs to be updated.

- The Olive Opera House was before the Historic Preservation Committee in December, and this past Monday (1/9) and was referred to the BOT for an Awning Application.

- Here Coffee (in Station Plaza by the Ossining Train Station) has applied for a Cabaret License.

- Finally, the Board will consider moving to the “Public Hearing” stage on the CPCRB proposed local law.
