Our Theatre for Families series kicks off with Dear Edwina

Tickets On Sale HERE

First in the lineup from our new Theatre For Families season is the show, Dear Edwina. From the creators of Junie B. Jones the Musical (another TFF classic from a few years back) Dear Edwina tells the story of thirteen-year-old Edwina Spoonapple from Paw Paw Michigan. Her siblings are very talented and because of that she feels overshadowed and not special. Yet Edwina has many talents including leadership, singing and advising, and she combines all of them by directing a weekly mini-musical out of her garage.

The topic of these musicals is letters written to her by neighborhood kids who need advice. She gives them advice through songs and dances that she orchestrates with her friends. One of the main themes of Dear Edwina is Edwina's desire to be in the upcoming "Advice-a-palooza" festival. What happens after the festival talent scout calls helps Edwina put it all in the right perspective.

This show is great for all ages and will make for a perfect family outing. Pictured are cast members (left to right) Ayden Burns, Emily Delk, Kate Loscutoff, Marie Campbell, and Lanea Christianson. Reserved seats are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 62+, and $10 for children 17 and under. Balcony tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Flex Pass specials and group rates are available. Tickets are on sale now for performances September 9 - 18 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Use the button below to purchase online or contact our box office at (530) 666-9617 (340 Second Street).

The Ghost of Woodland Opera House

The new comedy by Matthew Abergel and Bob Cooner tells the story of a troupe of traveling actors in 1909 who arrive at the theatre to perform their latest melodrama. But mysterious accidents make a mess of their dress rehearsal. Could it be the malevolent meddling of the ghost that reportedly haunts the Opera House? Inspired by the real-life heroism of Woodland firefighter William Porter. A must-see!

News from the Woodland Opera House Guild

The Board of the Woodland Opera House Guild is reinvigorated & reenergized as this new season of amazing shows is being produced at our historic theatre, and we hope that you are too!

The Guild is a nonprofit volunteer service organization that directly supports the Opera House and its mission. Guild members are one of the primary contacts with Opera House patrons and enhance their experience by ushering per- formances & concerts, selling concessions & merchandise, giving tours, acting as docents for special events held, and assisting at fundraising events. The Guild plays such a critical role in supporting the performances at Woodland Opera House, that without us, the show literally cannot go on. Why not join us and play your part?

Please secure/renew your Guild Membership for 2022-2023! Our annual membership year matches the WOH Season which began July 1, 2022. The QR Code pictured or link here will take you to an on-line marketplace where you can register as a member, pay your dues, and request a nametag all in one place.

Alternatively, you can download our brochure here (or pick one up in the Box Office) and send in a check to register. We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Guild and thank you for supporting the Woodland Opera House. For more information, please visit our web page.
