Sherry Winkelman’s Quilts and Other Expressions

My show is an overview of work spanning the last 20 years or so. Taking inspiration from landscape, botany, biology, architecture, astronomy, and technology, I combine traditional quilting motifs, media, and techniques with abstraction and unconventional approaches to create unique and diverse art. Sherry’s quilts have been featured in numerous juried quilt and mixed media exhibitions throughout New England. Her work has been included in several of the Smithsonian Institution’s ‘Artists at Work’ juried exhibitions at the S. Dillon Ripley Center on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
