Tucson Bicycle Classic brings bike circuit race to Oro Valley on March 5; motorists should expect traffic delays/restrictions
The Tucson Bicycle Classic will feature a circuit race in Oro Valley on March 5, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Oro Valley race route will be around Naranja Park and is expected to bring about 600-700 professional riders. The race route/circuit around Naranja Park is just over four miles long, and riders will complete that route up to seven times, providing spectators an excellent opportunity to view these athletes in action multiple times. The race will begin and end near the entrance to Naranja Park (810 W. Naranja Drive), with various viewing areas along the route. On event day, Naranja Park will be closed to all vehicles from 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. except to the racers. Click here for a map of the impacted areas.

Vistoso Trails Nature Preserve -- Updates & Announcements
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting on February 21. The consultant provided updated concepts for the Master Plan and your feedback is helpful as we continue to refine the document. In case you missed it, the presentation can be viewed here

We wanted to send a reminder about the proper use of the Preserve. We have rules signs throughout the property, but it appears some are not following them. Most recently, it was brought to our attention that go-carts and ATVs have been driving on the property. While this is a fun recreational activity, it is NOT allowed in/on the Preserve. Please help us reach out to your neighbors by sharing this information to ensure everyone understands the rules. Unauthorized motor vehicles are prohibited. Click here for a full list of the rules. Thank you!

Closure of gym area February 27 - March 1 for installation of new strength equipment and transition of racquetball court
As we stated in previous communication, the facility will be replacing almost all of its strength equipment. We are very excited to announce that this project will begin Monday, February 27 and we anticipate it will take three days to complete. During this time we will need to close off this area, which means members will not have access to strength and cardio equipment and we will not be offering any fitness classes during this time. The pool (including water aerobics) and courts will remain open. In addition, we are taking advantage of this closure to begin the conversion of Racquetball Court #1 to a recreation lounge space, which will feature ping pong, foosball, shuffleboard, TV with gaming systems and tables and chairs for card or board games. While we understand this may interrupt your fitness schedule, we do feel these necessary improvements will have a substantial positive impact on the facility. We thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this process!

Feedback Requested -- Murals/Art in Cardio Area
In December we asked your opinion about the addition of mirrors in the cardio area at the facility. After a month of responses, 65% of those who participated were not in favor of adding mirrors in the cardio space. Throughout this process, we heard several comments that if mirrors were not a favorable option, perhaps adding art/murals in that area would be a good fit and introduce vibrant colors while improving the overall aesthetics of the space. If this were the direction we chose to go, our intention would be to involve the membership to help guide the artist to ensure the voice of our members is present in the design. While we don’t have a design at this point, the general idea would be to have a larger piece on the southern upper wall (above the drop ceiling) and some smaller designs along the eastern wall where the cardio equipment is located. However, before we begin that part of the process, we’d like to gather some feedback from you. Please click here or copy and paste https://arcg.is/1jvi9e to view the survey.
