Just before 3 p.m. on May 30th, the Frisco Fire Department (FFD) was notified of a residence on fire in the 7100 block of Old Province Way. Fire crews arrived to find fire coming from the roof. While on scene, firefighters were notified of an additional home on fire across the street in the 7100 block of Silverbrook Lane. Fire was also observed from the roof of that home. Just after 3:30 p.m., Frisco was notified of an additional home on fire in the 3500 block of Norwich Lane. This fire was also the result of a lightning strike.

The homes on Silverbrook and Old Province were severely damaged and the residents were not able to return to their homes. The home on Norwich suffered limited damage and the family was able to return to their residence.

No civilians were injured in any of the fires. One Frisco firefighter was injured at the Silverbrook fire and was taken to a local hospital by EMS, with non-life-threatening injuries. An additional firefighter was treated on the same scene for heat exhaustion.

The Frisco Fire Department received multiple calls for lightning strikes during the three fires. No other fires were located.

Fire departments from the cities of Plano, The Colony and Little Elm responded to Frisco and assisted with the structure fires and other calls for service.
