LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) announced $3.59 million in funding to the State of Nevada and local and tribal governments in the First District through the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. This funding will support community-based clean energy by developing local programming and deploying clean energy technologies to cut emissions and reduce consumer energy costs through eligible projects. These include building bike lanes, pathways, and pedestrian walkways and replacing traffic signals and street lighting with energy-efficient lighting technology. This funding can also be used for conducting residential and commercial building energy audits and establishing financial incentive programs for energy efficiency improvements. This funding was made possible under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act which Rep. Titus championed.

“In Nevada, we’re committed to clean, renewable energy as we tackle the climate crisis,” said Rep. Titus. “Clean energy means cleaner air, good jobs, and more money in the pockets of Southern Nevadans. It will also help address environmental equity and benefit all Nevadans, regardless of where they live. I am pleased to announce this funding which will boost our national clean-energy economy.”
