September 18-24 Is Banned Books Week!

Banned books week is an annual celebration of the freedom to read! Interested in learning more about Banned Books Week? Click here! Come and browse the banned books on display this month and dare to read differently!

September is Healthy Aging Month!

We are excited to partner with the Topsfield Council on Aging this month to bring you several programs on healthy aging, future planning, and information that is just good to know! All programs will be available to attend IN PERSON, and several will be held both in person and available on Zoom!

Senator Lovely's In-Person Office Hours: Mon 9/19, 11am-12pm: Senator Joan B. Lovely is holding in-person office hours in the Topsfield Town Library. Masks that cover the mouth and nose are required at all times for all participants.

Preplanning seminar with Director of Mackey Funeral Home: Tue 9/20, 10am: Funeral Director, Dan Mackey, will walk us through some steps we can take, and options to think about, to minimize cost and stress in this preplanning seminar. This program will be held IN PERSON at the Topsfield Library, no registration required.

Real ID: What is it and do I need one?: Wed 9/21, 9-10am: Learn about the new Real ID, what it is, if you need one, and how to get it. This program will be held IN PERSON at the Public Hall in Town Hall no registration required.

7 Steps to Managing your Memory with Dr. David Budson: Thu 9/22, 6pm: Dr. Andrew Budson will explain how individuals can distinguish changes in memory due to Alzheimer's versus normal aging, what medications, diets, and exercise regimes can help, and the best habits, strategies, and memory aids to use, in seven simple steps. This program will be held IN PERSON at the Topsfield Library OR you may choose to join the webinar from home via Zoom. Sign up here for Zoom attendance ONLY (No registration required to attend in person)

Intellectual Freedom and You: Thu 9/22, 7-8pm: Join this interactive webinar during Banned Books Week, where you'll learn about why intellectual freedom is important and what you can do to support libraries, library workers, and free expression during these challenging times.
