From: Town Of Barkhamsted

Hello everyone.   On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, there will be a State Primary held for both the Republican and Democrat party for candidates wishing to run for Secretary of the State, Treasurer and United States Senator on the November election ballot.  The voting will take place at the Barkhamsted Elementary School from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.  You must be registered as a Republican or a Democrat in order to vote in this Primary.

If you are not able to vote in person that day during any hours of voting, absentee ballots are available in the office of the Town Clerk.  You must fill out an application form in order to receive your ballot.  This may be done in person or by mail.  You can find the application form on the Secretary of the State’s website at https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Election-Services/Voter-Information/Absentee-Voting , or you can get one in my office.  Once the completed application is received by us, your ballot packet will be mailed within 24 hours.

When you receive your packet, please follow the instructions carefully.  For return of your ballot, you are welcome to either mail it through the US Postal Service, deliver in person to me or my assistant in the town clerk’s office, or drop it into the designated locked drop box located outside the lower level door at town hall.  In order to be counted, your ballot must be received by 8p.m. on August 9, 2022.

As always, I am here to answer any questions you may have.  Feel free to contact me during business hours at 860-379-8665 or send me an email at [email protected]
