Conserve Water and Save Money, Order a Rain Barrel by August 30

Lexington is once again partnering with Great American Rain Barrel to offer residents rain barrels at a discounted rate with convenient in-town pick-up. You must pre-order online through the Great American Rain Barrel website by August 30.

Save Water, Save Money

Rain barrels help save drinking water resources and money. According to the US EPA, 30% of daily water use is used outdoors. Using the rain barrel's stored water around the landscape saves water resources and reduces the amount of water purchased from municipal sources.

How to Order/Pick Up Your Rain Barrel

To find out more about the barrels and to participate in The Great American Rain Barrel Program, please visit their website and select "Lexington".

Barrels are offered at $79 for painted and $74 for unpainted. Barrels will be available for pick up on September 10 between 9 and 11:00am at the Lexington Compost Facility, 60 Hartwell Ave, Lexington.

Deadline for purchase is 11:59 PM on August 30.

Graffiti in Our Community Parks

Our community parks have been experiencing a consistent uptick in graffiti vandalism since the spring. The restrooms, trash barrels, Skate Park, and Town Pool at the Center Recreation Complex and the play equipment and poured in place safety surfacing at the Lincoln Park playground have all had multiple graffiti incidents.

Help preserve the recreational resources and amenities at our community parks! Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity should contact the Lexington Police Department at (781) 862-1212.

Pop-Up Incubator Launches in Lexington Center for Early Stage Entrepreneurs
The Town has launched a pop-up incubator for early-stage entrepreneurs that will provide opportunities for economic growth as the Town begins to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pop-up is located at 15 Depot Square in Lexington Center and celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 18

Project: Pop-Up will offer small businesses access to a commercial retail space in Lexington through a seasonal rotation of cohorts over the course of a year, at a significantly reduced cost to the businesses. The retailers, many of whom are currently operating primarily online, will pop up in the space for 2-4 months to introduce their businesses to a wider audience and will have access to a robust range of support services from UpNext, the local consultancy facilitating the initiative, to help ensure their success.
