The Massachusetts State Election will take place on Tuesday, November 8. Voters will be asked to choose candidates for elected office, as well as to weigh in on four ballot questions.

Transportation Options to the Polls for the November 8 State Election
Lexpress
Lexpress ROUTE C goes to the Community Center every hour FROM Depot Square in Lexington Center and every hour from the other direction (from the east).
Lexpress operates from 7:30AM-7:30PM and will operate as usual on election day. Coming from the direction of Lexington Center/Depot, it arrives at Community Center at :36 after the hour from 7:36AM-6:36PM. Coming the other direction from places east of the Community Center, the bus arrives at the Community Center :13 minutes after the hour from 8:13AM-6:13PM.
For voters in Precincts 7 & 9 who previously voted in Keilty Hall, and now vote at the Community Center, can also take the MBTA #76 bus. The #76 operates on Mass. Ave. in front of St. Brigids and goes past Marrett Rd. @ Mass Ave (where Community Center is). There is also MBTA #62 which can be caught nearby at Bedford St @ Harrington Rd and also in Lexington Center.

League of Women Voters
The Lexington League of Women Voters is offering rides to the polls on Election Day, November 8, 2022.

Special Town Meeting 2022-3 Concludes
Special Town Meeting 2022-3 wrapped up business on Wednesday, November 3, taking action on a number of articles, including the formation of a housing trust, reorganization of the Lexington Housing Assistance Board, appropriating money for Center Recreation bathrooms, and more.

Approved American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds Outlined
As of October 26, 2022, the Select Board has approved for use $4,417,027 of Lexington’s $9.9 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Additionally, $1,100,000 of the Town's ARPA funds are set aside for Participatory Budgeting and food insecurity.
The approved funds are in the following areas:
- Housing
- Pandemic-related
- Food Insecurity
- Public Safety & Health
- Economic Stimulus & Resiliency

Building Closures, Trash Delay on Friday, November 11 for Veterans Day
In observance of Veterans Day, the following building closures and service delays will be in place on Friday, November 11.
- All non-emergency Town offices will be closed and no public meetings will be held
- Curbside trash/recycling collection will not be collected on Friday, and will instead be collected on Saturday
- Cary Library will be closed
- The Community Center will be closed
Textiles and Mattresses Banned from the Trash as of November 1
Effective November 1, 2022, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has added textiles and mattresses to the list of materials that are banned from trash disposal.
Textiles includes clothes, linens, towels, shoes, and accessories, like hats, gloves, socks, underwear, belts, purses, and handbags.

Results of 2022 Town Wide Survey to be Presented at Upcoming Public Meeting
Findings from the Lexington 2022 Town Wide Survey will be presented by Drs. Marian Cohen & Ruth Remington, Directors of the Center for Social Research, on behalf of the Vision for Lexington Committee at an upcoming public meeting. The results have also been presented at two previous public meetings in October and November.

New Safe Watch Program Helps Protect People Who May Wander
The Lexington Police Department recently announced the launch of the Safe Watch Program to help safeguard people in our community suffering from a condition that may cause them to wander.
The Safe Watch Program is an enhancement of the Police Department's previous At-Risk Program. We've broadened the scope to include all people who might tend to wander, including those who suffer from:
- Alzheimer’s Disease or other types of dementia
- Autism
- Mental Health Issues
- Other Developmental/Physical Disabilities

Joan Clifford, Director of the Bedford VA, will be the keynote speaker. Veterans are invited to attend free of charge; a donation of $10 from non-veterans would be appreciated.
Tickets are available at the Lexington Community Center, Michelson’s Shoes, and Bedford Town Hall.

Lexington History Hunt
November 1-11
The Lexington History Hunt, new to the celebration of Veterans Day this year, invites kids aged 8 – 12 to discover the many ways Lexington has served the country through a series of questions that require investigating the town’s history.
Participant instructions will be available at Cary Library’s Children’s Room (1874 Mass. Ave.) and the Visitors Center (1875 Mass. Ave.) November 1.
Participants who answer the most questions correctly will be recognized at the Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11.
Vaccine Clinics Available to Lexington Community
Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics are available throughout the rest of the year. The clinics are open to the Lexington community and are being offered by the Lexington Public Schools.

Police Department Rolls out New Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
Consistent with the Select Board's Green Fleet Policy, the Lexington Police Department has put two new hybrid vehicles on the road, with two more currently being outfitted and expected soon.
The 2022 Hybrid Ford Explorers replaced Dodge Chargers and serve as patrol vehicles, which are used 24/7 to provide services to the community.
The Police Department has also purchased their first fully electric vehicle that will be used by the School Resource Officer. They look forward to the reduced fuel use as a result of these new vehicles and are committed to the continued exploration of hybrid and electric vehicles in their fleet.

The Lexington Office of Public Health will update weekly COVID-19 case numbers each Friday. The data represented on the dashboard DOES NOT include at-home test results. The data only represents results of PCR and antigen tests verified through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
