NEW - Poll Pads
For the Special Election on Monday, June 6, Poll Pads will be used to check-in voters to help alleviate lines and provide more efficiency at polling locations.
Voters should plan to give their name, house/residence number, and street name. Voters are welcome to visit any line in their precinct in order to check-in. A printed “receipt” will be given to each voter so they can confirm their information. Receipts can be placed in a check-out box when the voter casts their ballot.
We’re looking forward to serving voters with this helpful technology at the polls!
Understanding Present/Future Housing Needs of Older Adults; Please Take This Short Survey
As part of Lexington’s Senior Services Age Friendly initiatives, we've developed a short survey (7 questions) to better understand the present and future housing needs of Lexington's older adults (ages 55+).
Your answers will help the Town in planning for potential services and programs to ensure Lexington will continue to be your home.
Upcoming Conservation Walk, Sunday June 12
Whipple Hill Family Walk
Sunday June 12: 1:30-3:00 pm
Whipple Hill Conservation Area features Lexington’s highest point, topping out at 374 feet above Boston Harbor. Whipple Hill is also home to fascinating remnants of the last glacier to cover the area some 10,000 years ago.
The walk up and down the trails will include stopping at a vernal pool and observing typical New England woodland plants, some in bloom. Possible bonus: You can see taller spots in central Massachusetts and even a few mountains in New Hampshire on a clear day! Heavy rain or lightning will cancel. Parking is available on Berkshire Drive, opposite the entrance to the property. If the number of people who sign up exceeds the maximum group size, we will schedule another walk.
Each person needs a (free) ticket.

About John Frey
John W. Frey, a Lexington resident from 1965 until his death in 2020, was known widely for his diplomatic leadership of a myriad of civic committees in town. A quiet man, he nevertheless was highly skilled in leading people to work harmoniously for the public good.
A professional landscape architect, John’s designs throughout Lexington added greatly to its orderly functions and beautification. In addition to his professional contributions, John was an active member of three Town committees: the Bicycle Advisory, Design Advisory, and Tree Committees.
John led the Tree Committee to develop a Town Bylaw to protect trees from removal and to partner with the Town's Department of Public Works in a wide range of tree protection and maintenance activities.

Expect a Postcard in the Mail; Town Contractor is Replacing Home and Business Water Meters
The Town is replacing a majority of the water meters in Lexington. If you haven't already gotten one, you will get a postcard to schedule a date and time for your water meter replacement.
See what the postcard will look like.
The replacements are being done by Water Management Services (WMS), a company that the Town has contracted for this work. They will have identification when they come to your home or business.
The picture seen here is what the van that will perform the installation looks like.

Human Rights Committee Seeking Artwork and Pictures for Race Amity Day
No community is painted by the same brush. We come together in a celebration of race amity - where diverse backgrounds, countries, cultures, and life experiences can flourish in partnership to create a vibrant community. Together we are stronger, we are better, we are unique. Lexington holds a wealth of diversity that we celebrate. You can join us by submitting artwork and pictures of amity throughout the year.
This year the Human Rights Committee is celebrating by creating a slideshow of all the ways we as a racially diverse community have lifted each other up. Submit artwork or pictures that exemplify race amity. It could be a meeting, an event, a cultural gathering or celebration, or a gathering of friends or school groups.
Art and pictures will be shared through a slideshow that will be available on the Town's website and other social media platforms on June 12.
Deadline is June 5
