Our website is the hub of all information for the Town of Lexington, and the new design features improved navigation, functionality, and accessibility.

Select Board Seeks Resident to Serve on LHS School Building Committee

The Select Board is seeking a Lexington resident to serve on the School Building Committee for the anticipated Lexington High School building project.

The formation of a School Building Committee is a requirement under Mass. General Law when applying for funding from the Mass. School Building Authority (MSBA).

The deadline for submission is Friday, July 15 at 12:00 PM.

Qualifications

Applicants must be a resident of Lexington.

Preferred qualifications include:

-Background in architecture, engineering, and/or construction is considered beneficial

Time Commitment

The Committee will begin meeting by the fall of 2022 and will meet through the end of construction, anticipated to be 2028. 

Meeting dates/times will be set based the Committee’s availability, but will meet on a regular basis for several years.

2022-23 Trash/Recycling Flyer Sent to Homes; Available Online

The Environmental Services Division recently sent out their 2021-22 trash and recycling flyer to each home in Lexington.

The flyer has information on when trash/recycling collection will be delayed, composting, textile recycling, and more.

MassDOT Public Meeting on Future of Rt. 128/I-95 Corridor

Do you travel in or through Newton, Weston, Waltham, Lincoln, or Lexington? Join the second public meeting for the Route 128/I95 Land Use and Transportation study.

At this meeting, the study team will provide updates on the project and discuss the Future Conditions and Alternatives Development tasks. This work will inform the development of land use and transportation infrastructure, as well as policy enhancements to improve mobility in and through the study area.

Help plan the future of Lexington's open space and recreation areas. Lexington is updating it's 2015 Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP).

COVID-19 Data; Test Kits Available at Town Buildings; Test Kit Expiration Dates Extended

The Lexington Office of Public Health will update weekly COVID-19 case numbers each Friday. The data represented on the dashboard DOES NOT include at-home test results. The data only represents results of PCR and antigen tests verified through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Test Kits Available

Free at-home rapid COVID-19 test kits are available at Town buildings across Lexington.

You can pick up a test at the following locations:

-Town Office Building (Health Office) - 1625 Massachusetts Avenue

-Fire Department - 45 Bedford Street

-Police Department - 1575 Massachusetts Avenue

-Community Center - 39 Marrett Road

-Visitors Center - 1875 Massachusetts Avenue

-Public Services Building - 201 Bedford Street

Test kits are available during regular business hours (Police Dept. open 24/7) while supplies last.

Test Kit Expiration Date Extended

The Food and Drug Administration has granted a three-month shelf life extension for the iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test, which extended the shelf-life of all iHealth tests with expiration dates on or before 2022-09-29 (YYYY-MM-DD) from 6 months to 9 months. Check the expiration date here if you have an iHealth rapid test kit.
