Tax Bills due Jan 1. 2023

The Town of Manchester mailed Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills for the October 2021 Grand List on December 27, 2022.

Failure to pay any tax that is due January 01, 2023, on or before February 01, 2023, will cause the tax to become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of Jan. 1, 2023.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Residents are reminded that Christmas Trees can be left out for curbside pickup through Friday, Jan. 13th only.

After Jan. 13th, trees must be brought to the Transfer Station. Trees contaminated with plastic bags, ornaments, lights or stands will not be collected.

Winter Parking Ban

Please support our efforts by parking your vehicle in conformance with the winter parking ban.

Overnight parking is not allowed on public streets or municipal parking lots between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM from December 1st to April 1st. Anyone violating this ordinance shall be fined fifteen dollars ($15.00).

Veterans Ceremony

The Honorable Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz would like to honor Manchester’s Vietnam Era Veterans who served from 1961-1975. She will be presenting certificates of appreciation to the “brave Americans who answered the call to duty” in Vietnam. Town Clerk, Darryl Thames, is developing an invitation list for the event and needs your help.

Stop by the Manchester Customer Service & Information Center, or the Senior Center, during regular business hours to pick up kits.

Manchester Art Association

Manchester Art Association's (MAA) newest exhibit is opening Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Manchester Town Hall located at 41 Center St. This exciting exhibit is entitled “Etcetera” because it features a variety of mediums including glass, colored pencil, graphite, ink, cut paper, mixed media, fiber, collage, fabric, etc. The exhibit can be seen at Manchester Town Hall during normal business hours and will end on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Winter Wonder Concert

The South Windsor Community Band will present “Winter Wonder” – a blend of beloved winter tunes and pops classics at 7pm on Fri., Jan. 13, 2023 at the SBM Charitable Foundation, Inc. Auditorium at Manchester Community College in Manchester, CT. The free program will feature familiar favorites from the silver screen and Broadway.

Friends & Family CPR
American Heart Association

February is American Heart Month, and there is no better way to show you care than by taking a CPR class. Community rescuers are a key part of the chain of survival for cardiac arrest victims. You CAN learn the skills needed to assist a friend, neighbor or family member.

This course covers child and adult CPR, as well as choking rescue. Optional “Stop The Bleed” ® training will be available after the CPR session is complete. Please inquire at Town Hall, the Community Y or another town recreation center if you need assistance with setting up a household account for online registration.

Please note: This is a non-certification class and will not meet typical employer requirements. Weather cancellation information can be obtained by calling: 860.647.3162

Meets: Tuesday 2/7/23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Fee: $ 10 (residents) $ 20 (Non-residents)
Ages: Must be 13 or older to register.
Ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
