Town of Marion : A Message From The Town Clerk Regarding Dog Licenses

Government and Politics

December 20, 2022

From: Town of Marion

Happy Holidays! The 2022 dog licenses expire on 12/31. We will be sending out dog license applications again with the census or you may come into the office or you may register online on the Town Clerk's web page. Unfortunately, we were forced to change software vendors in July for our dog licensing software and there is currently a "bug" in the program regarding renewals. The Dog License Portal on the Town Clerk's web page has been updated for the 2023 license year; however, it is not yet ready for use. If you need a dog license before next week, please come into the office as we can issue it at the counter. You will need to bring a copy of the rabies certificate (or call to ensure we already have one) and a check or cash for the amount. "Intact" dogs are $13.00 and "fixed" dogs are $10.00. If you are 70 and over, you get one dog at no charge household. The dog license period is 1/1/23 thru 12/31/23 and there is a grace period until 3/31/23, after which there will be a $25.00 late charge per dog.

Thank you for your understanding and we are hoping to have this issue resolved the week after Christmas.
