Town Of Queen Creek Council Members Oliphant And Wheatley Appointed To Maricopa Association Of Governments Committees

The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Council recently appointed Queen Creek Council Members Dawn Oliphant and Julia Wheatley to key committee assignments.

Council Member Dawn Oliphant was also reappointed as an at-large member of the Economic Development Committee. Council Member Oliphant has been a participant in the Committee throughout the last year and has collaborated with mayors, council members and business leaders across the region to generate opportunities for both new businesses and retain and expand existing business operations within the Maricopa region.

Council Member Julia Wheatley was appointed to the Transportation Policy Committee. The MAG Transportation Policy Committee is a collaboration of elected officials, the business community, Arizona Department of Transportation, Maricopa County and the Native Nations who are responsible for the implementation of Proposition 400, a voter approved ballot measure for purposes of funding transportation projects. Additionally, the Committee is tasked with the planning and development of the next long-term Regional Transportation Plan, known as Momentum. 

MAG is a council of governments which serves as the regional planning agency for the metropolitan Phoenix area, including Pinal County.
