Children attending the August 4th concert may pick a lollipop in hopes of winning a prize and play the bean bag toss and fish pond games.  A bounce house will be set up on the Common for their entertainment and temporary tattoos will be available.

There will be a recruiting table where people may learn about the Friends of the Townsend Library as well as their Haunted Trail event in October and find out how they may get involved with one or both.

Area residents of all ages are encouraged to bring their lawn chair or blanket to the Common that evening so they may sit and socialize with other concertgoers while they enjoy good music, refreshments, and fresh air.

The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 by playing Hildreth's arrangement of “Our Director March” and Custer's adaption of “The Saints Hallelujah”.  “Highlights from Oklahoma” arranged by Yoder, the “Baby Elephant Walk” arranged by Moss, and Hildreth's arrangement of “Under The Double Eagle” will be performed. Custer's adaption of “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and “The Wrong Note Rag” arranged by Ricketts will be played. Sousa's “Willow Blossoms” and “The Thunderer March” by Sousa will be included in the first portion of the concert.

Following intermission “The Nutmeggers March” by Osterling and “Cherish” arranged by de Camp will be played.  Holst's “Second Suite for Military Band in F Major” and “The Liberty Bell” by Sousa will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the “Star Spangled

Banner”.
