On May 10th, Trumbull Police Officers Edward Bachiocchi and Caitlin Murphy were presented with an EMS award at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for their valiant life-saving efforts at the scene of a serious head-on collision last year.  

Late on the evening of November 6, 2021, the two officers were nearby when the crash occurred on Daniels Farm Road.  Within minutes, the two officers pulled a 19-year-old driver from the wreckage, administered CPR, and applied an AED unit that twice delivered an electrical shock to restart the driver’s heart.  Despite his critical injuries, the driver survived, primarily due to the rapid medical intervention provided by the officers.  

Officer Bachiocchi and Officer Murphy displayed exceptional professionalism in the performance of their duties, for which we are all very proud.
