Town Of Wellesley - Listeria Update from the Health Department

Government and Politics

February 8, 2023

From: Town Of Wellesley

The Health Department is asking residents to check food labels after some products sold in Massachusetts are being recalled due to possible Listeria concerns.

The items were sold under the Fresh Creative Cuisine label in stores and vending machines from January 24 through January 31.  The recalled products include sandwiches, salads, snacks, yogurt, and other foods. Health officials are unsure if any local stores carry this label.

Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as a high fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, or abdominal pain.

Visit the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website for more information and to read the  complete list of recalled items.
