From: Town Of Wellesley

The Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) is seeking candidates to fill a vacant seat.

Current Commissioner Allison Burson is moving out of Wellesley at the end of October. The individual appointed to fill her seat will serve until the next Town election in March 2023.

Candidates must be Wellesley residents. Individuals interested in this opportunity should email a letter or resume stating their qualifications and interest in serving on the NRC to Director Brandon Schmitt or call 781-431-1019 ext. 2298. The deadline to apply is Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Applicants should include any relevant experience in Town activities and/or Town government involvement that supports the NRC’s purview and mission:
The mission of the Natural Resources Commission is to provide stewardship of, education about, and advocacy for the Town of Wellesley’s park, conservation, recreation, and open space system so the full value of the Town’s natural assets can be passed onto future generations.

Commissioners attend NRC meetings two times per month and as needed; take an active role in NRC projects and initiatives; attend affiliated meetings; participate in community events; and work with other elected officials, town departments, grassroots and non-profit groups in Wellesley, in nearby communities and regionally.
