Night of 1001 Pumpkins - TONIGHT!

What: Join us from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the LP Wilson Community Center tennis court area. Enjoy an outdoor pumpkin patch, outdoor pumpkin decorating, music, yard games, fall crafts, cold cider, treats, and goodie bags. Kona Ice will sell Hawaiian shaved ice, hot chocolate, and warm apple cider donuts. Enjoy the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on the Big Screen!

Don’t miss out on this great event! There will be goody bags handed out with treats inside for all children. This event is entirely outdoors and free to attend.

When/Where: Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the L.P. Wilson Community Center (Outdoors near tennis courts).

Ages: All ages.

Family Plant Night

What: Join us  for our Paint a Pot & Plant a Succulent Workshop. Youth ages 5 and up and their parents/guardians will start by painting a 4” terra cotta pot. Once painting is complete families get their hands dirty with our interactive plant bar. Gardening together gives families a chance to spend quality time together and provides stress relief and relaxation. $5.00 per person and dinner will be provided. Register using the link below or at the Youth Services Bureau Office located at the L.P. Wilson Community Center. 860-285-1946.

When/Where: Friday, November 4 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Millbrook Clubhouse, 147 Pigeon Hill Road, Windsor, CT.

Ages: Youth ages 5 and up and their parents/guardians.

First Aid and CPR Class

What: When you take a first aid class from the American Red Cross, you’ll gain the skills you need to help others during times of crisis. Designed to last just a few short hours, our first aid classes can help you recognize the signs that someone needs help and administer the right type of care. Led by knowledgeable instructors, our in-person courses combine lectures with hands-on skills sessions.

When/Where: Saturday, November 5 at the Millbrook Club House, 147 Pigeon Hill Road, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Ages: 14 to 19.

Registration: $10.00 per participant. Register online.

Windsor Instructional Basketball league (WIBL)

What: Registration is underway for the Windsor Instructional Basketball League and continues through December 3 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center or online at townofwindsorct.com. Clinics will be held in December and registration will not be accepted at the clinics. 

When/Where: Begins January 2 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center.

Ages: Windsor youth in grades 2 through 12. 

Registration: $60.00 per player if registered by December 3, after which there will be a $15.00 late registration fee. Registrations accepted until December 10, if space allows. Register online or at the Recreation Office at the L.P. Wilson Community Center.

Boy's Council

What: Boy’s Council is held at the Millbrook Club House from  Boys Council engages young men in activities, dialogue, and self-expression to question stereotypical concepts and to increase boys’ emotional, social, and cultural literacy. This program is for boys in 4th and 5th grade. Space is limited to 12 participants. Dinner is provided at each session.

When/Where: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM every Monday from November 7th, 2022 to January 9th, 2023.

Ages: Boys in 4th and 5th grade.

Adult Open Gym

What: Looking for something Fun to do in the evenings or on Sundays? Adult Open Volleyball meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:45 PM to 9:00 PM. Badminton meets on Sundays from 9am-12pm. New this season we will have adult Pickleball on Sundays from 1pm-3pm. The fees are $1.00 for residents and $2.00 for non-residents. 

New Location: Adult Open Basketball will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM at 330 Windsor Avenue Community Center. The fees are $1.00 for residents and $2.00 for non-residents. For more information please contact Recreation office at (860) 285-1990.

Program Proposals

What: Do you have an idea for a program that you think would benefit the community? The Recreation division seeks instructors for youth and adult leisure enrichment, fitness, sports and adapted activities.
