Knit Pumpkins with the Stitching Coach Saturday, October 8th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Learn to knit a pumpkin that lasts the whole season and years to come. You’ll want to make these in every size. Patrons should know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. In class you will conquer knitting the round with the help of Bristol instructor, Dawn Zillich – The Stitching Coach. Register here.

Hartford Healthcare presents...Got Foot Pain? Tuesday, October 11th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join Dr. Nicola Corbett as she discusses common foot conditions, minimally invasive treatment options, and the latest technology. Join us!

Women and Money Roundtable: How to Make Sense of Today's Financial Markets Wednesday, October 12th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The Women and Money Roundtable is a monthly financial literacy program designed to educate women of any age about the financial matters that affect their lives. Adult Fiction Book Club Thursday, October 13th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Adult Fiction Book Club is back! Join us as we read and discuss Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff in person at the Trumbull Library. We meet every second Thursday of the month at 10:00am to 11:00am in the Kiwanis conference room. Hope to see you there!

Local Author Event: A Nest of Snakes by Deborah Levison Thursday, October 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Meet the author! A NEST OF SNAKES is the debut novel by multi award-winning author Deborah Levison (WildBlue Press, 2022). Part thriller, part courtroom drama, the story is based on real-life events in which adult men came forward to accuse private schools of abuse. Register here.

Do It Yourself: Macramé Feathers Saturday, October 15th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Join us for a relaxing afternoon to make feathers out of macramé cord. Patrons will be given the option to make a set of earrings or a wall hanging. All supplies will are included for this craft. Adults only, under 18 with adult accompaniment. Register here.

"Rails to Back Trails" Local History Bike Tour Sunday, October 16th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local Trumbull Historian, Sue DelBianco, will take cyclists back in time to when train was king in the Trumbull Valley. Sue will be stopping off at many historical points-of-interest along the rail-trail: a cow tunnel, site of a train wreck, remains of an amusement park, a mill, a mining company, two train stations, and a reputed witch's gravesite. Harry Potter Book Club Thursday, October 13th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Did you know 2022 is the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first book in the Harry Potter series? Join the Trumbull Library for a year-long celebration of The Boy Who Lived! We will read all seven books, celebrate Harry Potter's birthday in July, and have a big celebration in December. This month, we're discussing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. A limited number of library copies are available to borrow. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Little Scientists Friday, October 14th from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Join us for hands-on, messy activities focused on different scientific topics. Ages 3-5. Registration is required.

Dungeons & Dragons Wednesday, October 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures! Never played before? No problem! No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Open to ages 12 and up. Registration is required.

Creators' Corner Exploration Monday, October 17th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Join us at the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Library and learn to use our 3D printer. If you are interested in attending or using the 3D printer please email Paula Carlson: [email protected]

Storytime 2s and 3s Tuesday, October 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come join us for story time! We will have a little bit of stories and a show stopping craft. Registration required. Ages 2-3.
