NEW YORK – The United Probation Officers Association today endorsed Governor Kathy Hochul for a full term. UPOA is a non-profit labor organization representing the health, safety, and interests of New York City’s Probation Officers. The organization advocates for safer working conditions, bargaining rights, and advancing the professional interests of its members.

UPOA leadership applauded Governor Hochul’s commitment to getting guns off the streets, building safer communities, and ensuring every New Yorker has the worker protections they deserve.

“The United Probation Officers Association works each and every day to protect New Yorkers and I’m honored to earn their endorsement,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Every member of law enforcement deserves a safe place to work, fair wages, and strong organizations that protect their rights. I’m proud to work together with UPOA as we keep New York’s communities safe.”

“We proudly endorse Kathy Hochul for Governor,” said President of the United Probation Officers Association Dalvanie K. Powell. “We need a Governor that stands for all New Yorkers, that balances the needs for safety and security with the opportunity for people to receive a second chance. Day in and day out, Probation Officers across our city – and our State – set New Yorkers involved with the criminal justice system on a path to success. Governor Hochul recognizes that the work of Probation is incredibly valuable and essential. We look forward to working with the Governor and her team on the many issues that Probation Officers face locally and statewide when she is elected to a full term, because we strongly believe that she represents the best of our state.”
