In Quarter 4...

Women United granted $5,000 in funds to assist FIVE schools that do not have established Care Closets.

THREE of these schools (Springfield Schools, Mahoning County Career & Technical Center and Youngstown City School’s Chaney Middle School) received Care Carts to assist students with snacks and hygiene products. The carts will be refilled as needed for the remainder of the school year.

The TWO remaining schools were also assisted with clothing, socks, and underwear to assist with the student needs.

We will be helping South Range Schools combat food debt by providing them with a gift of $2,250.

Women United stepped in to fulfill EIGHT emergency requests from Struthers Schools, Austintown Schools, Chaney High School and Middle School. We provided over $3,000 worth of funding to provide students and families with holiday gifts, food assistance, clothing, hot spots, and hygiene products.

Thank you to all who joined us for our final Women's Wednesday of 2023!

Celebrity Bartending!

Our Women United 2023 Celebrity Bartending Event on October 26th was a great success!

We cannot thank our Attendees, Supporters, Celebrity Bartenders and Sponsors enough for all their efforts to raise over $33,000 in tips to support children and families during times of crisis!

We are so grateful to all of you for your hard work and dedication. Congratulations again to Matt Mrozek for winning the Bartending Trophy by bringing in $6,483!

Thank you again to both Patrick and Stacy Howlett for being our host sponsors and the entire R46 staff for such a great experience and helping make this event an one of a kind fundraiser for Women United.

Thank you Derek and Renee Knepper for being our Title Sponsor for the night! We really appreciate you both stepping up for Women United!

A final thank you goes to Lisa Resnick with Dandelion-Inc as our Tip Jar Sponsor.

All funds raised will go toward 2024 emergency services for students and their families.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Young Women's Mentorship Program

This program is centered around providing consistent, positive support to young girls. Through the help of their mentors, community speakers, and field trips, these young women gain opportunities to learn important life skills and most importantly, gain the tools necessary to envision all the wonderful possibilities within themselves. The demonstration of commitment to these young women allows them to feel safe and supported in whatever challenges they may face.

We currently need mentors at Taft Elementary, Youngstown Community School and the Boardman Center Intermediate School.
