The carefree days of summer are coming. To enjoy the summer months and free your mind about day-to-day tasks or upcoming trips, turn to your smartphone for help. Keeping track of multiple to-do lists, appointments, upcoming trips and other obligations can push our attention spans to the limit. Savvy smartphone owners are turning to some surprisingly simple yet effective tricks to capture information and avoid becoming overwhelmed.

According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey1, 42 percent of people use their devices to keep track of appointments and events.

U.S. Cellular wants to show area residents the tips and tricks of using devices, like the iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S7, to the fullest. The U.S. Cellular store in Knoxville will host free a Device Workshop on June 11, 9 to 10 a.m., at 4873 N. Broadway. The workshop is open to everyone; you do not need to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.

"During the summer, being overwhelmed is the last thing any of us wants," said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. "Utilize your smartphone whether you are at home or across the country on summer vacation to keep track of all those small but important details."

¹ Results are from a nationally representative online survey of 738 smartphone owners conducted by U.S. Cellular in partnership with Maritz Research from November 12-20, 2015.
