The Wichita Police Department is hosting a town hall to address the WPD Violent Crime Reduction Plan around the area of 9th and Grove. The event will be held at the Madison Ave Clubhouse at 1005 N Madison Ave. on September 15th from 1800 to 2000 hours.

The town hall will address an increase in violent crimes including drive-by shootings around 9th Street North and Grove Street and the proactive steps the WPD is taking to reduce this trend in this location and throughout the City of Wichita. 

Representatives from the Wichita Police Department, WPD Juvenile Intervention Unit, Wichita Housing Department, and community leaders from the African American community will be in attendance.

The event will be live streamed on the WPD Facebook page and is open to the public at no cost.
