Walberg Announces USDA Investment to Improve Parma's Wastewater System

Jackson, MI—Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) announced that the Village of Parma in Jackson County will receive over $2 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to upgrade its wastewater collection and treatment system.

“I am pleased that Parma has been selected to receive this significant investment designed to help rural areas modernize their wastewater infrastructure. This federal funding will bring much-needed improvements to Parma’s wastewater system and have a lasting impact on the well-being of the community for years to come,” said Walberg.

Through USDA Rural Development, the Village of Parma will receive a loan of $1,512,000 and a grant of $502,000 to support these infrastructure upgrades. The project replaces two pump stations in an attempt to avoid catastrophic failure from high volume weather events.
