5:00 - 9:00 pm : Lowell X-Treme Winter Green - Lowell Park

Time for extreme family fun! Slide around on the ice with Broom Ball and Boot Hockey; test your extreme accuracy with a snowball toss and snow ball tic tac toe; master your form while rolling street curling stones; and rack up the points with an extreme game of Smore Ball!

Keep your eyes open for 15 minute LED flow art dancing, at 6:00, 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Ice skating, sledding live DJ, and a bonfire too!

Concessions available from Lou Malnati's Pizzaria.

5:00 - 7:30 pm : Generac Ice And Snow Sculpting Demo - Lowell Park

Come watch the internationally acclaimed pros as they create an amazing winter scene that combines thousands upon thousands of pounds of ice and snow into an amazing sculpture.

5:00 - 9:00 pm : JanBoree Beer Garden - Lowell Park

Stop by to watch professional glass blowers create icicles and more our of glass. Learn about the techniques and steps in this beautiful art form and walk through the "ice cave."

8:00 PM : Jan-BOOM-Eree Fireworks - Lowell Park

Fireworks in a winter sky; there's nothing like it! Be sure to keep your eyes out for X-Treme Winter Green segment.

Plenty of street and lot parking available to enjoy the display from your car.

9:00 am - Noon : 20th Annual Geocaching Event - Rotary Building

Geocaching, a global game of treasure hunting using longitude and latitude coordinates, is fun for all ages. With your smart phone or GPS and internet acces, you are ready to explore and search for a "geocache." Presentation will focus on basics to get started in the eco and family friendly sport.

9:00 am - Noon : Check in time

Coordinates handed out for hidden caches.

10:30 am : Geocaching 101 Presentation:

Learn the basics. Families encouraged.

Bring your own GPS receiver or smart phone.

9:30 - 11:00 am : Make and Play Workshop -  White Rock Campus

Join the School District of Waukesha and Community 4K partners as we create and explore with science! Let's get extreme with marshmallow catapults and HUGE bubble wands!

Explorers have the opportunity to get messy with green goo and experiment with physics as they test how far they can launch a car on our test track!

11:00 am - 2:00 pm : Light's Out! Eclipses - Retzer Nature Center

Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium

Explore fascinating eclipse stories - from long ago scariness - to amazing stories of discovery. It is built to be timeless - where each planetarium can add its own upcoming eclipses. There's a fun interactive part to model both a total and annular eclipse. Experience the wonder of totality!

11:00 am - 2:00 pm : Winter Wildlife Exploration - Retzer Nature Center

Set out on the trails at Retzer Nature Center in search of winter wildlife. Self-guided hike includes a map, key highlights, and a scavenger hunt!
Explore the nature trails on foot or with free use of snowshoes. First come, first served, if snow cover and conditions are adequate.

11:00 am - 2:00 pm : Stories by the Fire - Retzer Nature Center Patio

Come gather around the fire outside on the Retzer Patio to hear some children's stories. Warm beverages and treats from Mama D's will be available to purchase, and the Learning Center will be open to explore.

Drop in and see what e-sports and gaming are all about. See if you can beat the E-Sport State Champion Blackshirts from Waukesha South High School. Adult supervision required.

Join us for an afternoon of activities that promote renewable energy resources and participate in extreme sports and games.

Register to join us at Waukesha County's Eble Park Ice Arena for FREE Admission to public skating! Attendance is limited. Online registration is required.

Skate rental is extra ($3 per pair) and quantities are limited, so bring your own if you can. We can't guarantee rental skate availability.

5:30 - 7:00 pm : Build-a-Recyclable-Sled Workshop - WPRF Main Office

Come and learn how to make a sled out of everyday materials that you are probably recycling at home. Recycled materials will be available but bring things you'd like to use. WPRF Before and Afterschool care staff will show you their tips and tricks to get you started. Then take it to Lowell hill for a test run.

Take light viewing to the X-Treme and stop by the Walk of Lights on Riverfront Plaza in downtown Waukesha.

9:00 - 10:00 am : Winter Tyke Hike - Retzer Nature Center

In the winter months, nature records fascinating activities of animals. We can tell a lot about animals by the signs they leave behind. Children ages 2-5 are invited to join us as we search for signs of animal activity and footprints. Use Retzer’s snowshoes or bring your own (snowshoe quantities may be limited). A trail hike will replace snowshoeing if snow cover is not adequate.

Participants must be accompanied by an adult. Limited to the first 25 children

Gather your family or friends for some creative fun! Each participant will follow step by step instructions to create a wintery masterpiece. Cost: $7 per person

6:00 - 7:15 pm : Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium Show :  Everyday Astronomer: Citizen Science - Horwitz-DeRemer Planetarium & Retzer Nature Center

Come learn how you can study the stars and planets and participate in citizen science with no equipment. Our presenter has logged over 200 citizen science missions and will talk about how you can get involved as a family or amateur from any location.

5:30 - 8:00 pm : Glow Winter Green Walk - Frame Park

In the spirit of the theme, free hot chocolate will be provided by the Salvation Army and participants will have an opportunity to create a Wintergreen Lifesaver triboluminescence spark and frozen bubbles along the walk.

Each registered participant receives a glow stick flashlight for the 1.7-mile walk.

8:00 - 10:00 am : Frosty 5K Run and Walk - Schuetze Recreation Center

Bring the whole family to enjoy the Frosty 5K in Frame Park, managed by Silver Circle Sports Events. Early registration discount, $40 race day. Free t-shirt for early registrants & free hot chocolate. Kids race a 1K free with parent registration. Timed race, awards to top 3 men/women in five year age categories.

8:00 am - Noon : Lure Course - Minooka Park, Picnic Area #1

Your dogs are in for an exhilarating adventure! They'll be chasing a lure, controlled by a remote and powered by an electric pulley system. This activity, known as lure coursing, taps into a dog's instinctual prey drive. It's an excellent way for your furry friends to expend energy. Both you and your dog are sure to have a fantastic time!

9:00 am - Noon : Families Have a "Hoot" - Christ the Life Preschool

Stop by anytime and create your own "X-Treme Snowman" from recycled materials. Check out the self-guided scavenger hunt in the woods. At 10:00 am, come inside for Ms. Kim's Amazing Animals - an interactive live animal program.

9:00 am - 2:00 pm : Ice Sculpting Competition - Downtown Waukesha

Watch carvers sculpt large blocks of ice into works of art!

Judging takes place at 2:00 pm.

10:00 - 11:00 am : Game Show to The X-Treme - Waukesha Public Library

Fashioned after Double Dare of the 1980's, this whacky game show format features audience contestants, family-friendly trivia, and plenty of grime and slime!

10:00 am - 2:00 pm : Crites Field Flannel Fly-In - Waukesha County Airport, Crites Field

Sport your favorite flannel and come out to Crites Field for some flying fun. Learn about planes, flying, and the airport. Bundle up for the Young Eagle activities and have fun with our fix 'n fly passports. Enjoy snacks, food and more! Multiple aeronautical organizations will be participating.

Then join us in 6:00 pm for a showing of Devotion held in the Atlantic Aviation hangar (Access the hanger through our main terminal). Please bring your own chairs and blankets.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm : Ice Fishing Clinic - Minooka Park

Free park entrance for the day!

Join the Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin for this hands-on ice fishing clinic! Equipment and bait will be provided. Online Registration Required.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm : X-Treme Animal Fun! - Humane Animal Welfare Society

Come and learn how we Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to help our animals and the environment. Make pet toys out of recycled materials for our adoptable animals or take it home to your pet. Tour the shelter on a scavenger hunt to find recycled and reused items for animal enrichment.

10:00 am - 4:00 pm : Make Your Own Historical Fun - Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum

Visit the museum and make some old fashion toys, use recycled materials to create art projects, and pick up some take-home crafts in our Waukesha State Bank Education Center. Don’t forget to check out our exhibits during your visit.

11:00 am - 3:00 pm : Alaskan Malamute Weight Pull - Minooka Park

Free park entrance for the day!

Check out an official Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin Dog Pull in Waukesha County’s Minooka Park-Picnic Area 3. Watch an open competition of dogs pulling up to 3,000 pounds on a wheeled cart!

Snow is not needed for this event. Spectators welcome!

Kid and families can "putt" their golf skills to the test with this fun and challenging literary GREEN mini golf course! Putters and golf balls provided.

Lil' chill is spreading the love and leaving eggs in the snow! Kiddos can search for candy filled eggs and there is even special golden eggs in each hunt!

CBS 58 Ready Weather Chief Meteorologist, Drew Burgoyne shows you the science behind our weather and the importance of severe weather safety. With interactive and educational experiments, young and old are sure to learn something while having a ton of fun!

Enjoy a movie in a hangar. Bring your chairs and watch as pair of U.S. Navy fighter pilots risk their lives during the Korean War and become some of the Navy's most celebrated wignmen. PG13
