Film & Discussion: "Putin and the Presidents"

Frontline investigates Russian President Vladimir Putin's clashes with five American presidents as he's tried to rebuild the Russian empire. Join us for a film and discussion with Professor Olena Lennon, PH.D., a Practitioner In Residence of National Security at the University of New Haven. Thursday, 4/20 at 6:30PM

Assyrian Mythology with Storyteller Tom Lee

Join us for an afternoon of storytelling at the Bishops Corner Library. Storyteller Tom Lee will bring Assyrian Mythology to life in this program geared towards adults. Wednesday, 4/26 at 2:30PM.

Teen Art Banner Contest

Teens. Would you like your art displayed on a light pole in West Hartford Center? We’re sponsoring a Teen Art Banner Contest, along with West Hartford Municipal Parking, entitled “My Happy Place.” Be creative … draw, paint, collage, create an 8½ x 11″ (portrait mode) picture of your happy place to be displayed on the light poles in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square. Art must be handed in to any West Hartford Library by Tuesday, 4/14 and is open to students in grades 9-12.

Cinderella

Family. On April 29 & 30, Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) will present its original ballet Cinderella at the Bushnell's Belding Theater in three performances; including one sensory-friendly performance. Your family is invited to a "preview of selections" of the show at the West Hartford Conference Center (town hall auditorium) to be held Wednesday, 4/19 at 6:30PM.

Tween Tuesdays: Slime Circuits

Tweens. Tuesdays are for Tweens! Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4pm for some baking, crafting, tech’ing, building, and much more! On Tuesday, 4/18, spend an afternoon exploring the science of polymers. We'll make slime. Then engineer a circuit using the slime as a conductor to light up an LED.

Performance Artist & Storyteller

Family. On Thursday, 5/18, in partnership with First Church West Hartford, we present performance artist, Jedda La Rue of Family-N-Motion, for an evening of storytelling, filled with music, dance, theatrical connections, and even some original songs! This performance takes place in the auditorium of First Church West Hartford.
