Clubs and Organizations

April 24, 2023

From: Windsor Historical Society

Windsor Historical Society continues its popular Lunch Conversations Exploring Windsor’s Black History with two engaging new topics: School Integration, and Housing in Windsor, on May 3 and June 28.

Did you or members of your family experience the ongoing school integration process in Windsor or elsewhere in Connecticut? Did you experience red-lining or other forms of housing discrimination? Bring your stories and memories to share with others over lunch and conversation. Join researcher Marcia Hinckley, Librarian/Archivist Michelle Tom and Community History Specialist Sulema DePeyster for a lively discussion of your experiences with each of these important racial equity topics:

School Integration. Wednesday, May 3, noon to 1:30 PM at Windsor Historical Society.
Housing in Windsor. Wednesday, June 28, noon to 1:30 PM at Windsor Historical Society.

Bring your own lunch. Drinks and snacks provided. Free admission. Advanced registration required. For more information: [email protected] or 860-688-3813.

The Windsor Historical Society, founded in 1921, invites visitors to explore the people, places, and events that have shaped Windsor for over four centuries. The Society’s museum and research library is located at 96 Palisado Avenue (Route 159) and is open from 11 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday through
Saturday. General admission to the library and historic houses is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, and free to all children under 12 and WHS members. All visitors are free to browse the museum store and exhibit galleries at no charge, thanks to generous support of the Town of Windsor.
