From: Windsor Historical Society

Windsor Historical Society’s popular Second Hand in the First Town Tag Sale Fundraiser is back this fall! The Society is seeking donations and volunteers to support this giant tag sale, which takes place on the grounds of the Historical Society museum Thursday, October 6 through Sunday, October 9. This huge community event has something for everyone, and you can help out!

Donations wanted! Your donation is welcome at the museum Mondays-Saturdays, September 12-24. Items needed include household furnishings, cookware, china, utensils, glassware, toys and games, books and DVDs, tools, clothing, holiday decorations, antiques, home décor, costume jewelry and accessories, and more!  No junk, please. Donations should be clean and serviceable. Tag sale donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and receipts benefit the Historical Society’s educational programs and museum operations.

Volunteers needed! It takes a village – and you can be a part of it. Help receive, sort, organize, and price donations, and monitor the tag sale event. Volunteers are needed every day from September 12 through October 10. To volunteer email [email protected], or call 860-688-3813.

The Windsor Historical Society, founded in 1921, invites visitors to explore the people, places, and events that have shaped Windsor for over four centuries. The Society’s museum and research library is located at 96 Palisado Avenue (Route 159) and is open from 11 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday through Saturday. General admission to the library and historic houses is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, and free to all children under 12 and WHS members. All visitors are free to browse the museum store and exhibit galleries at no charge, thanks to generous support of the Town of Windsor.

Through September 5, Connecticut youth aged 18 and under (plus one accompanying CT adult) are free thanks to the support of the State of Connecticut and Connecticut Humanities.
