Take a chance on a Christmas tree decorated with items from local businesses, including dining, with a minimum value of $500. Raffle tickets are available for purchase in the Holiday Gift Shop.

WREATHS AROUND THE HOLIDAYS IN THE HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP

Featuring wreaths decorated by Wiscasset Area businesses. “Over the top,” is the challenge! Shoppers vote for People’s Choice in the Nickels-Sortwell barn on Federal St. 

HOW TO MAKE A BOXWOOD TREE DEMO, 1PM TO 3PM, IN THE HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP

Mindful Gardens owner, Mare LeMay, demonstrates how to make your own long-lasting, evergreen table-top tree, a festive and popular Christmas decoration. Demo is FREE, just drop-in. Nickels-Sortwell barn on Federal St.

NICKELS-SORTWELL HOUSE TOURS, 11AM TO 3PM

The historic Nickels-Sortwell House, built in 1807, will be dressed for the season in holiday greens. Self-guided tours on the half hour; $5 Wiscasset residents and Historic New England members; others, $10. Pre-registration is requested at www.historicnewengland.org. 121 Main St.

GIFT SHOPPING IN WISCASSET VILLAGE, 10AM TO 5PM

The Village’s remarkable collection of shops and galleries is open. On site owners are ready to assist shoppers, searching for just-right gifts for everyone on the list, with advice and suggestions.

DRAWING FOR DINING RAFFLE IN EACH PARTICIPATING SHOP.

HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP, 10AM TO 4PM

The Holiday Gift Shop is a seasonal pop-up shop featuring a curated collection of artisan wares, holiday greens, and gifts for guys and gardeners. Located in the Nickels-Sortwell barn on Federal St.

WREATHS AROUND THE HOLIDAYS

Wiscasset area businesses decorate wreaths in the spirit of the season and shoppers vote for the People’s Choice favorite. Wreaths are donated to Toys for Tots’ families after Marketfest. 

TRIMMED WISCASSET TREE RAFFLE

Featuring merchandise and gift certificates from local businesses with a total value of more than $500. Purchase raffle tickets at check-out in the Holiday Gift Shop.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS SALE AT THE WISCASSET PUBLIC LIBRARY, 10AM TO 1PM

Children are welcome to the lower level of the library during sale hours to shop for family members with the help of friendly elves. All items are priced under $5. Parents wait upstairs, and the children rejoin them after shopping with all purchased gifts wrapped. Proceeds support the efforts of Friends of the WPL. 21 High St.

NICKELS-SORTWELL HOUSE TOURS, 11AM TO 3PM

The historic Nickels-Sortwell House, built in 1807, opens its doors to visitors for a glimpse into another era - festooned with seasonal florals. Self-guided tours on the half hour; $5 Wiscasset residents and Historic New England members; others, $10. Pre-registration is requested at www.historicnewengland.org. 121 Main St.

HORSE-DRAWN WAGON SHUTTLE ON SATURDAY, 11AM TO 3PM.

Climb on board for a ride in Cooper Farm’s horse-drawn wagon! It’s a shuttle for shoppers and a pleasant way to tour the Village. FREE for all!

WREATH-MAKING DEMO ON VILLAGE SIDEWALK, 11AM TO 4PM

Desiree Bailey constructs festive evergreen wreaths as you watch. Get tips and learn from a master wreath-maker. Orders taken for wreaths, hand-made garlands, and Christmas trees harvested locally. Hot tea for chilly shoppers provided by Possibilities Nutrition.    

CAROLS IN THE VILLAGE, NOON TO 2PM

Be on the look out for Nor’easter Barbershop Chorus carolers around the Village, stopping in to the Holiday Gift Shop and other Village sites. And don’t be shy - sing along!

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING AND CAROLS ON WISCASSET COMMON, SATURDAY, DEC. 3, AT DUSK

A long Wiscasset tradition is the annual tree lighting on the Common accompanied by the angelic voices of schoolchildren. A Wiscasset Parks & Rec. Dept. event.

WATER ST. KITCHEN & BAR CELEBRATES THE SEASON, 4:30 TO 6:30PM

Refresh and renew after a day of shopping, wagon rides, and Christmas caroling at Water St. Kitchen, 15 Water St., Wiscasset Village. Featuring a signature cocktail to celebrate the season and free appetizers in the lounge.
