A Musical Evening with Mariachi Singer Veronica Robles

Tuesday, September 19.  6:30-8 PM.

Enjoy a lovely evening with Veronica Robles with music and stories about mariachi tradition and her journey as a female Mariachi.  Come ready to Sing along and dance.

Free Citizenship Course

Saturdays, September 16-November 25.  10:30am - 12:30pm.

The course covers the naturalization process and prepares students for the citizenship interview. Topics included are the 100 civics questions, the reading and writing sections, and the interview questions based on the N-400 application. Free assistance is available if students need help with the citizenship application.

This free 10-week Citizenship course is a joint project from Burlington Public Library, Woburn Public Library, and St. Mark Community Education. Classes will be held at Burlington Public Library.

Taste of Israel

Tuesday, September 12.  7-8 PM.
Experience the Middle East with Therapy Gardens. Find out about the history and culture of the Holy Land through a special one-hour tour of the land, people, and food. A small sampling of authentic Israeli food will be provided.

Rockin’ TV: Rock & Roll and Television From Elvis to the Monkees

Friday, September 15.  1-2 PM.
This program will present a lively survey of the fascinating history of how rock and television grew up together.

Improv Workshop for Adults

Tuesday, September 26.  7-8 PM.
Participants in Adult improv workshops find that they laugh a lot and that getting in touch with their creative sides brings them peace and happiness. Presented by Meredith Charles, proprietor of Drama out of the Box. Free. No experience necessary.

The presentation will include information about how to be safe online whether it be on your smart device, social media or online banking, phishing emails, and general protection from scams and identity theft.

Learn the basics of what it takes to make a web page with HTML, CSS, and the tools needed to publish a page. By the end of the two sessions you'll have your very own website you can show your friends and family!

An informal and welcoming group that meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 3-4 PM. At our meetings, we will discuss resources, share research tips, and engage in lively discussions about family history.

Virtual: Q&A with Historical Fiction & Romance Author Piper Huguley

Wednesday, Sept. 20.  7-8 PM.
Piper Huguley is an author of historical fiction featuring African American characters. She tells the untold stories of people who might have been lost to time. Her most recent book, By Her Own Design: a novel of Ann Lowe, Fashion Designer to the Social Register tells the inspiring story of the Black fashion designer of Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress.

Meet Trenni (Kusnierek) Casey, on-air sports journalist for NBC Sports Boston/NBC 10! We'll be discussing how Trenni got to where she is, what it takes to be a sportscaster in New England, especially as a woman, and the current state of Boston sports!

Virtual: How NASA Is Combating Climate Change

Friday, Sept. 29.  2-3 PM.
Learn about the efforts of teams of NASA researches who are currently examining Earth to understand climate change, storms, fires, and where people fit in to all of it, including an active mission studying climate change in northern regions of the world. Led by Dr. Elizabeth Hoy, PhD, who has been a NASA scientist for over 10 years with the NASA Carbon Cycle and Ecosystems Office and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
