Join Percy Jackson and his friends on a journey to Save the World! The Lightning Thief, The Percy Jackson Musical opens on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Considered “the ultimate hero’s adventure set to music,” you'll be mesmerized by the storyline that includes Greek mythological creatures, and amazed by the talent in this adaptation of “The Lightning Thief” book series by Rick Riordan.

Rated PG - language and battle scenes.

Tickets for the show are on sale now for all performances, Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays at 2:00 p.m. This production runs for two weekends only (through June 25). Purchase tickets at the button below or call the Box Office at (530) 666-9617. Box Office Hours are: Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Our partners at Woodland Public Library will be hosting a special “sneak peek” of The Lightning Thief, The Percy Jackson Musical this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Come see our actors in character and learn more about the story of Percy Jackson and the show! Meet on the front lawn of the library for a short performance, then snacks and photo opportunities will follow.

Bring the whole family, and be sure to tell your friends! This is a free event.

AUDITIONS THIS WEEK!

Special Virtual Auditions for School of Rock the Musical
Actor/Instrumentalists Only
Deadline is Thursday, June 15

Virtual audition submissions for our Fall 2023 production of School of Rock the Musical will be accepted through Thursday, June 15, 2023.

This audition is for specific roles only - actor/instrumentalists. All other roles will audition August 27th and August 28th, with more details to be announced soon.

- The virtual audition requires the submission of a short video. Specifications can be found at the button below.

- All roles are available. We will cast all students older to play younger due to the demands of the show.

- All young performers must currently be studying with a private music coach/teacher from the time of submission and through the duration of the show. We will be communicating regularly to ensure musical progress.

- We promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in our casting.

This show is based on the hit 2003 Jack Black film, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Julian Fellowes.

Important Update:

We had a mandatory parent meeting on June 1st. This meeting went over what to expect at auditions, what to expect from the initial rehearsal and performance process, and all of the necessary information regarding the additional commitment of the Junior Theatre Festival. 

Parents must have either attended this meeting or arranged for a presentation packet to be sent to them prior to their child auditioning for the show. If you missed this meeting, please email us HERE to request a presentation packet so that your child can audition for the show.  

This Rising Stars/JTF Audition is open to anyone between the ages of 11 years old through Rising High School Senior (Must be 11 years of age by the date of the audition and no older than 18 years old through February 2024).

Our productions this season will offer something for everyone to experience. From contemporary comedies like The SpongeBob Musical, The Addams Family, and School of Rock the Musical, to a classic - Damn Yankees. Also, a unique tale with Disney's Descendants: The Musical, and a new slant on the story of Peter Pan in Peter and the Starcatcher.

All of this, plus another comedy, to be announced in October. Contract restrictions prevent us from divulging the title now, but we can assure you it will be a hoot!

Executive Director, Angela Baltezore
Honored with Proclamation from the City

Congratulations to Angela Baltezore, Executive Director!

Last week Angela (pictured) received a proclamation at the Woodland City Council meeting. Presented by City Council Member Tom Stallard, the proclamation honored Angela for her work to preserve the Opera House, establish the Education Program, and for her many years of service to the community as a teacher and director. The Council also recognized Angela’s retirement at the end of this month, and the incredible legacy that she’ll be leaving to the Opera House.

Please be reminded that we're holding a special retirement celebration for Angela this Saturday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the theatre. All are welcome to attend. This is a free event. Come out and let Angela know how much you appreciate all that she's done for the WOH!

Latin Cardio (Ages 14 through Adult)

Come join us for a workout that feels more like a party! The hour will consist of a series of easy-to-follow dance moves set to contagious Latin beats. Utilizing a combination of high and low energy routines you can customize your experience with high or low impact to suit your abilities. With a focus on cardiovascular exercise this class will keep your heart pumping and your toes tapping.

Improv is Back at TADA!
Intro to Improv (Ages 10 to 15 years old)

Ever wondered what Captain Hook would be like as a Pokemon trainer? Or which Disney character would win "America’s Got Talent?" Come explore your imagination and flex your creative muscles via improv! We will learn to improve ourselves as actors using improv techniques through games and then put on a show! Arrive prepared to have fun! - Class runs 90 minutes for 6 weeks, and will be taught by TADA Teaching Artist, Karen Fox.

Tuition: $150

Ages: 10 through 15 years old

When: July 8th through August 12th - Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Theatre and Dance Annex, 520 Court Street - Woodland.

Improv Basics (Ages 16 through adult)

Have you ever been in a show, and someone dropped a line? Or did you forget what you were supposed to say? Improv skills can be an important tool to get you back on track, or it can just be fun! Come work on developing a new set of acting and character skills by playing games and getting creative! We will then take our games and put on a show! Come dressed comfortably and prepared to have fun! Class runs 90 minutes for 6 weeks. The workshop will be led by TADA Teaching Artist Karen Fox.

Tuition: $150

Ages: 16 through adult

When: July 8th through August 12th - Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
