Join us this weekend for delightful performances as we venture Through the Looking Glass! Our students, ages 7 through adult, are excited to bring you the annual Dance Showcase and share what they've learned, while in the spotlight!

The tale of "Alice in Wonderland" will be brought to life through the styles of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz dance, Hip-Hop, and Tap dance.

Performances are:

 - Friday, May 19, 7:00 p.m.
 - Saturday May 20, 7:00 p.m.
 - Sunday, May 21, 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the button below or call/come by the Box Office (530) 666-9617 / 340 Second Street, Woodland. Hours are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Also a part of our Opening Night Showcase on Friday, will be the announcement of raffle winners! If you don't have your tickets yet, get them quick! All you need to do is contact a TADA student or give our TADA office a call at (530) 650-8203. Ticket prices are $10 each or (5) for $40 - what a bargain!

Prizes include: A 2-Night Clearlake Getaway, 65-inch TV, $500 Cash Prize, Cache Creek Spa Package, Dinner at Napa's TARLA Mediterranean Grill, and More!

Funds raised from this raffle will benefit all of our productions! Education productions receive funds to support tech and production costs for the following: Dance Showcase, Musical Theatre Showcases, Rising Stars productions, The Nutcracker Sweet and Show Biz Kidz productions. Season productions receive support for production tech and staffing of tech support.

Also, a reminder: Flower bouquets will be available for purchase at each of the showcases. Gift your dancer with a beautiful bouquet by Strelitzia Flower Company! Our Opera House flower cart will be located in front of the theatre before each performance - only $15 each!

Come join us and be a part of this fun and wacky under the sea excursion! Auditions will be held on Sunday, May 21 and Monday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Theatre And Dance Annex (TADA), 520 Court Street.

Auditions are open to versatile, energetic actors, singers, and dancers ages 16-106! All roles are open. We promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in our casting. Also Auditioning Soon for Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock the Musical

Virtual audition submissions for our Fall 2023 production of School of Rock the Musical will be accepted through Thursday, June 15, 2023. Based on the hit 2003 Jack Black film, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Julian Fellowes, we are currently seeking virtual auditions for specific roles only (actor/instrumentalists).  All other roles will audition August 27th and 28th, with more details to be announced soon.

Classes for Youth and Adults

New Teen/Adult Workshop

Flow - Dance for Stretch and Strength

NEW - Ages 13 years through adult - This class is open for any dancer hoping to maintain flexibility, strength, and mobility throughout the summer. While primarily focusing on techniques for ballet, it will also touch on movements and skills used in Contemporary and Jazz.

This is a 6-week, 90-minute class. There is a second session immediately following this one. The instructor is Lela Rosendale.

Tuition: $150
Ages: 13 through adult
When: First Session - June 6th through July 18th, Second Session: July 25th through August 22nd. Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Theatre and Dance Annex, 520 Court Street.

Scholarship Reminder

The Woodland Opera House Education Program is offering a $500 scholarship for a 2023 graduating high school senior who has benefited from our Education Program and/or has participated in WOH productions. The applicant must be enrolled in a College or Arts Education Program in the Fall of 2023 and intends to focus on Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre, Communications).

Applicants should submit an essay describing future educational plans, what they gained from their experiences at the Woodland Opera House, and how that has prepared them for the future. Essay submissions due by Friday, June 23rd. Email all submissions to [email protected] 

The scholarship will be awarded at the Show Biz Kidz “Broadway, Here I Come!” performance on July 21st. Please share this information with any student you know that may qualify. And good luck to all applicants!
