JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Join Graham Cave State Park team members as they celebrate World Atlatl Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The celebration will be in the lower picnic area.

The atlatl is an ancient tool for hunting with spears and darts designed and used by early Native Americans and cultures in other parts of the world. Members of the World Atlatl Association will demonstrate atlatl designs and dart and spear throwing techniques. Additional activities include flintknapping demonstrations, wildlife fur displays and historical exhibits presented by Montgomery County Historical Society and Graham family descendants. The World Atlatl Association will also host an International Standard Accuracy Contest (ISAC), along with Moche Toss and other games. Preregistration is not required and no experience is necessary to participate.

When: Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. .

Where: Graham Cave State Park is located off I-70, between Kingdom City and St. Louis, on Highway TT two miles west of Highway 161 at exit 170 in Danville.
