(Woodland, CA) – Today, First 5 Yolo announced funding opportunities for existing licensed childcare providers, individuals seeking a new childcare license, and licensed providers returning to active status. The funding comes from Yolo County’s allocation from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). The First 5 grants aim to support Yolo County Childcare providers serving Yolo County children ages 0-5 to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and provide infrastructure supports to increase childcare capacity within the County.

There are two grant opportunities. First, Childcare Recovery grants are available to all licensed, private providers who have remained open from December 2020 to the present. These grants require a simple application. Second, Infrastructure grants are available for licensed providers and non-licensed individuals seeking their first license. Infrastructure grants apply to opening new childcare sites, expanding existing childcare sites, and or making modifications so that a site can return to or sustain full enrollment.

“This partnership between Yolo County and First 5 Yolo will bring some much-needed support to our childcare providers who have been on the front lines of the pandemic and are critical to family economic stability,” said First 5 Yolo Chair and Yolo County Supervisor Jim Provenza.

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis through February 1, 2023, or until all funds have been awarded. Find additional information and applications on the First 5 Yolo website at www.first5yolo.org/partners/apply-for-funding.

Those needing technical assistance and language support to access the applications can contact Children’s Home Society at (530) 654-6265 or email First 5 Yolo at [email protected].
