Welcome to 1781 Brewing Company.

Using natural ingredients from the fertile land we reside on, we create some of the most delicious and fresh tasting farmhouse ales around. We are one of the first farm breweries in the great state of Virginia, and the only one with a vineyard and winery on the same property, Wilderness Run Vineyards.

Here at 1781, we strive to produce the best French, Belgian, and German influenced farmhouse ales this side of the Atlantic. Using organic ingredients from our own farm, or from local sources, we strive to brew up some of the most wholesome and natural beer around. In doing so we are able to build our beers with a terroir, Unlike most breweries, we get our most important ingredient, the water, directly from the ground, as nature intended. This water is never chlorinated or treated in any way, and has the perfect composition for brewing and distilling. It is the biggest factor in what makes our beer taste so great. Whether enjoyed on the patio over-looking the vineyard, or in your own home on the couch, our beer will remind you why mankind has continued the tradition of brewing for thousands of years.

An amazing place to visit. Enough farm and close enough to the city and highway that you can escape to 1781 for a few hours and still be back for dinner at home. The winery and brewery combo make for something that everyone can like. They have an awesome connection to their community and the food trucks add a great touch. This is a place to bring people to impress them and to just sit. If the weather could be rainy every time I visit here it would be 6 stars. Enjoy!

Took the family here. Kids loved it and there were lots of other kids playing on the chicken coop looking play area. Nice setup with lots of room. Wines are mostly from other places but pretty good.

The whole enchilada..BEAUTIFUL rustic farm setting, TASTY brews (especially the hefe) and if beer isn't your thing, walk across the lot and have some of their crafted wines. Its' difficult to find another brewer/winery that offers the "whole package" Brandon and Harry have a top notch business, do yourself a favor and stop by!

Here for the SuperNova Ska-fest, so not really normal circumstances, but I think they do a great job! The beers were good and all the staff and volunteers were really friendly!
