Adventure Strategy Games Group

The Adventure Strategy Games Group is now meeting weekly, Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., on the center tables of Johnny's Pizza, 3915 Gilbert Drive (Madison Park location) in Shreveport.

Participation is open to college-age people and up. Newcomers are welcome to attend and participate.

Although mine is a privately-sponsored informal gaming group, its membership is open for new regular members. And while we do at times try out and play new games, my group is not about demoing new games. For that reason, we aspire and strive to emphasize friendship and socializing as well as good sportsmanship and fair play in a positive atmosphere.

The strategy games that we play include many of the top-rated light-strategy card, tile, dice, word & board games listed on BoardGameGeek.com. We do not, however, play collectible card games (CCGs), collectible miniature games (CMGs) or role-playing games (RPGs).

My group doesn't play just one type of game but a well-rounded variety of light modern/Euro strategy games, including Euro strategy games, abstract strategy games, war games, tile games, dice games, card games, word games and some classic strategy games.

We do not, however, play collectible card games (CCGs), collectible miniature games (CMGs) or role-playing games (RPGs).

You can get a good idea about the variety of games we play in my games playlist, the second post at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/436318 which contains links to information, photographs, FAQs, and reviews about the games.

Participants in my group aren't expected to learn and memorize a lot of rules. I provide player aids to both make learning new games faster and easier as well as to serve as memory prompters.

So, if you think you might be interested in checking out our group or joining, you can either write to me in advance at [email protected] or simply show up on game night.

Good gaming,
