About

Apache Junction Horse Rescue would like to take this time to wish every one a safe Happy Holiday Season. Apache Junction Horse Rescue is celebrating 5 years of continual care for unwanted, abused or neglected hoses. AJHR would like to take this time to make special thanks for continual support from the United Way, Car Donation Line,Carol Handy @ KRDE The Ride 94, our Board of Directors, the many volunteers. The family's that have sent in donations, as well as the families that have given a rescue horse a forever loving home. I would also like to make a special thank you to our Veterinarian Dr. Cordell of Ahwatukee and his assistant Tracy. Dr. Cal is just one on the many Veterinarians that put in countless hours' of help to the Agriculture community. As of the last survey about 85 % of the horses adoptions are still with the same families. At AJHR we take great pride in the fact that each horse is given time to heal, before a training or re-training program is put into place, Than the horses go out on the trail to find and correct the quirks that might cause problems for the new adaptor. Please remember this is only possible from the generosity of the community. That it can take up to a year to get a horse healthy unlike dogs and cats that can recover in a few week or months a horses hoof can take 6 months or longer to be corrected after poor diets and neglect, In some of cases extreme neglect may leave a horse lame and unable to carrier a person or compete in activities. From every one at Apache Junction Horse Rescue Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
