Appalachian Heritage Alliance

PO Box 1003

The Appalachian Heritage Alliance grew out of the Wolfe County Arts Association. Wolfe County, KY, is one of the most beautiful but "economically distressed", as we now call the situation, counties in Appalachia. The following impressive list of performances, retreats, educational field trips, community education and classes is due to the work of community members, local business, civic, and governmental organizations. However, we could not have accomplished this without the long term support and guidance of the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The goal for our Community Performances and Educational Field Trips for students is to present both Appalachian and culturally diverse programs. It is important, especially for the students, to see that performers representing our Appalachian Heritage are as talented as those from anywhere and that Our Story is unique and interesting to the rest of the world.
