Assembly of God Church

339 West Main Street
812-665-2279

As we enter the 21st century, it is our intention that Jasonville Assembly of God will play a leading role in helping to bring spiritual renewal to the area. We envision being a pentecostal congregation that will “earnestly contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). It is our aim to model true, Biblical Christianity, and to build upon our pentecostal heritage. To accomplish these goals, we will strongly emphasize loyalty to, and dependence upon the Word of God, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

It is our desire that our church will be a family of believers with a passion for spiritual growth and life transformation. To achieve our goal, we envision that ministries to all age levels and people groups will be pursued. We will provide support systems for people in all stages of spiritual development and will place a stronger emphasis on follow-up and discipleship. We will explore opportunities in adult education and will offer programs to strengthen marriages and families. We will continue to recognize the importance of ministries to youth and children, and will work vigorously, not only to attract young people, but to train and equip them to become spiritual leaders. We will work diligently to make our worship services more effective and appealing to each attender, with a strong emphasis given to anointed music, testimony, and preaching. Our highest priority will be to invite the presence of God and to seek the moving of the Holy Spirit in every service. We will also continue to utilize the altar,

where people will be given opportunities to deepen their relationship with God through energizing and empowering spiritual experiences. We will urge each member to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to practice the disciplines of a private devotional life, to adopt a missions-minded worldview, and to live a public life of faithful service to God, the church, and the community.

We also intend to use our facilities, including our new “Ministry Center”, to enhance our outreach to the church and community. We will aspire to be a welcoming church, where everyone, regardless of their social status in the community, will feel accepted, wanted, needed, and loved. We will search for ways to demonstrate the redemptive purposes of God as lives are reclaimed through the power of God’s love, grace, and forgiveness.
