AUMC held its first worship service in The Oaks Elementary School on September 8, 1985 and was officially chartered on January 12, 1986.  As a Room-to-Grow church, ground was broken and a successful “Together We Build” campaign led to dedication of our own facility on December 11, 1988.

Atascocita was a new community growing with young families, many transplanted to the Houston area by jobs, seeking relationships and a feeling of home.  With an enthusiastic, talented staff and laity providing ministries in music, youth, children, adult and family areas, AUMC became that home.
