On December 20th, the Avon Lions hosted a fundraiser to support the SightFirst II Campaign. With Lions Paul Johnson and Doug Wetzig acting as "celebrity bartenders" at the Creekside Tavern, the Avon Lions through tips, a portion of the restaurant proceeds and a matching donation from the Club raised $1,000.00 for the Campaign. SightFirst II is a worldwide vision program which has set out to raise $150 million to continue and expand the work of SightFirst I, a Lions worldwide program to combat preventable blindness.
