Mission:

To provide an opportunity for study and improvement in art technique;

To encourage an interest in and an appreciation of art in the community;

To provide opportunities for exhibition of members work;

To recognize the works of other artists; and

To offer scholarships to the community for art education.

About Us:

The Bakersfield Art Association is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

We are affiliated with the Arts Council of Kern, Downtown Business Association, the Downtown Bakersfield Art District and a member of the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce.

The Bakersfield Art Association has been dedicated to the enrichment and empowerment of local artists since 1944. The association offers members the opportunity to interact, learn and share the excitement of art. We give art scholarships to adults and juveniles at the Kern County Fair; teachers; and individual art scholarships, adults and juveniles.
