Established in 2000 as a dance club activity, the Ballet Folklorico International features a variety of dances from different countries around the world.  The primary purpose of this organization is to share, through dance, the diverse culture of our school, our community, and our great country and support other organizations in the community who have similar goals. For reservations please contact Lucia Lightfield see info below.

The dancers are comprised of 10 to 15 boys and girls, ranging from middle school high school and beyond.  They dedicate their time to learn and practice a variety of dance routines and perform before various organizations.  Current dance routines include Mexican folk dances (polkas, huapangos, picotas, jarabes jalicienses, jarabes nayaritas, sones veracruzanos, danzas aztecas...); American country line dancing (Tahoe Kick, Tush Push, Electric Slide, and more); Cuban rhythms (salsa, mambo, and meringue); Classical Ballet dance; Jazz, Tap and Irish dances.

To date, the Ballet Folklorico International has performed before a wide variety of audiences and in different venues that include: 5 de Mayo & Multicultural Performance, The Colfax Marathon, The Lakewood parade, The Arvada parade, The City of Northglenn Theater, Denver School of the Arts Hispanic Celebration, Barns & Noble Book Stores, University of Northern Colorado, CCFLT Conferences, Jefferson County Public Schools, Denver Public Schools, Cherry Creek Schools to mention some.

Our Ballet Folklorico International is a school-sponsored organization that is completely "off budget".  In other words, we operate solely off donations and fundraisers, which cover our costumes, shoes, transportation, etc.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
