The Belmont Lions Club has existed since 1948 and was incorporated in 1951. The Club owns the former railroad station building at One Common Street in Belmont Center and conducts its activities there. The Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month excluding July and August. Effective July 1, 2004, Irving "Skip" Freeman will succeed current President Alfred Gledhill while Cerdric Marsh "Rick" will remain Secretery.

The Lions Club supports many youth and senior citizens programs and individuals in the Belmont community. The Club also sponsors Belmont High School scholarships and various sports activities throughout the year. The Club is active in sight conservation research and programs, including collection and distribution of used eyeglasses, and sponsorship of the Eye Mobile. The Club's fund raising activities include a Christmas Tree Sale, Easter and an Annual $10,000 Raffle.
