"The mission of the Bensalem Rescue Squad is to provide competent and caring aid to the victims of emergencies in our community, through prevention, public education, and emergency services. The mission of the Squad includes cooperating with other services and aggressively seeking ways to better protect and treat the public we serve."

Bensalem EMS was established in 1980 as a non-profit volunteer ambulance company to serve our growing suburban community. Bensalem Township consists of just over 22 square miles that directly border the City of Philadelphia, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Bensalem is also bordered by the Delaware River. Because of its geographical location, Bensalem has become a hub of activity for Bucks County.
  • There are nearly 60,000 residents in our community.
  • There are many industrial and commercial properties in Bensalem.
  • Both Amtrak and USX rail lines traverse our jurisdiction.
  • Many routes of travel pass through our community, including I95, the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I276), and US 1.
  • Bensalem is in the flight path for several civilian and military airports.
  • Bensalem is also bordered by water on three sides, the Neshaminy Creek, the Poquessing Creek, and the Delaware River.
