Bible Baptist Church is an evangelical ministry located in the Housatonic River Valley in the beautiful Litchfield Hills of Northwestern Connecticut. The community of New Milford dates back to Colonial times (1700’s) and has a population of approximately 26,000. The New Milford Village Green is typical of New England and is the longest contiguous village green in the state. The town is geographically the largest in the state, dotted with numerous farms and wooded areas.

New Milford has its own consolidated school district with over 5200 students (K-12). The High School has about 1450 students and the Jr.High/Middle and Elementary schools have 2100 and 1600 students respectively. The community is steadily growing. The new High School and Middle School were built in the past two years and many new homes are being constructed.

Bible Baptist Church has a membership of about 130 with an average attendance on Sunday morning of 240. Our regular attendees number over 300 (including infants and children).

The Church has a beautiful facility that is debt free, and has active AWANA ministry averaging 80 children and 35 workers. VBS is a large ministry each August averaging 250 students and almost 100 workers.

There are many children and youth in the church, with an average of about 20 attending the Sunday Evening Youth Ministry (Jr. & Sr. High). There are over 50 Jr. & Sr. High students in the Church family, many who are peripheral in involvement except for Sunday morning worship.

Special youth activities include Friday evening basketball weekly at a local gymnasium. We average 30 youth each week (only about 10 are from our youth group). It is one of our developing outreach ministries.

The Church is growing and its families are committed to reaching our area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Deacons recently established a Vision Committee to evaluate all ministries of the Church in order to help develop the best possible ministry model for our community.

Bible Baptist is committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to the teaching of the Word and the development of disciples. We support a number of foreign and domestic missionaries. Last year a group of our Jr. & Sr. High youth went to do a VBS in Winslow, Arizona. Another group will be going to Virginia Beach, Virginia to do a VBS outreach this summer.

We believe this is the right time for our Church to add a Youth/Christian Education Pastor to our staff. The potential for youth ministry in our community is virtually open-ended with little being done by other area churches. Our vision is to see a vibrant and evangelistic youth outreach and discipleship ministry developed in the near future.
